'The Apollo' Documentary | NAACP Image Awards

Congratulations to the world-famous Apollo Theater, White Horse Pictures, the award-winning director Mr. Roger Ross-Williams, and everyone who played a part in the production of 'The Apollo' documentary!

'The Apollo' Documentary has been nominated for a NAACP Image Award. This film is based on the rich history of the world-famous Apollo Theater in New York.

Several years ago back in 2016, I auditioned for the Apollo's 'Amateur Night,' and I had no idea what God had in store for me. After standing out in the cold for many hours waiting for the Apollo doors to open, I received my audition number and waited for my number to be called.

When it was my turn to audition, I did my very best...and the rest is history!

After my audition I was approached by White Horse Pictures, and received the news that they wanted to have me take part in this documentary!

Over the course of the next few years, I became a 2-time First Place winner at the legendary Apollo Theater and one of their child stars! The Apollo Theater, "Where Stars Are Born and Legends Are Made!"

Now here we are several years later and 'The Apollo' film has premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, aired on HBO, and it has now been nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Documentary (Film)!

I'm so grateful to be in this film, as I made 3 appearances in 'The Apollo' documentary! To God be the glory! If you haven't watched it yet, it is on HBO demand.

The 51st NAACP Image Awards will air on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 8 PM (EST) on the BET Network.
